An analysis of the interrelationships between the Andes and the Amazon is presented, with emphasis on mainly hydrological and ecological aspects, as a first contribution to analyze the interdependence of these two bioregions and study how human activities affect these interactions, to propose priority lines of action that promote the conservation and sustainable development of these unique South American landscapes globally. Prepared on the basis of the «Andes Amazon Report», prepared by the authors on behalf of CONDESAN, with the support of the Swiss Cooperation Agency (COSUDE) and the McKnight Foundation.
